Westchester County readies for latest round of snowfall

(12/05/05) MAMARONECK ? Westchester residents and Department of Public Works (DPW) employees are getting ready to handle another round of snowy weather.

Some residents say they are actually looking forward to a preview of the upcoming winter. While many living in the county can?t wait to enjoy the snow, DPW workers know they have a job to do once the white stuff starts falling. DPW Commissioner Bud Nicoletti says employees are on standby to plow and salt the roads.

The early-December snow has some communities worrying about their budget for the rest of the year. Although some officials are worried about their bottom lines, they also say no expense will be spared when it comes to residents? safety.
