Councilman chosen to reign as mayor of New Rochelle

When New Rochelle Mayor Tim Idoni becomes county clerk, Councilman Noam Bramson will take over as mayor.

Bramson, a 35-year-old Democrat, has been on the City Council for 10 years and is a lifelong resident of New Rochelle. Bramson was chosen Tuesday to replace Idoni, who is leaving office in January. Idoni was elected Westchester County clerk last month after 14 years as mayor.

As the replacement mayor of New Rochelle, Bramson will serve a term of one year beginning January 1. He will be eligible to run for the office in November.
