Students and veterans in Yonkers remember attack on Pearl Harbor

Veterans joined students at Roosevelt High School in Yonkers to honor the anniversary of the 1941 Pearl Harbor attack.

The veterans shared their recollections with the students, most of whom are cadets with the school?s ROTC program. The students say the event helps them to not forget the past. State Senator Nick Spano (R-Yonkers) was on hand to select Joseph LaRocco as a 2005 Veterans Hall of Fame honoree.

The event is part of the Veterans History Project. The veterans' stories are taped and will be sent to the archives of the Library of Congress.
