Brazen robber holds up Yonkers bank

An armed man held up a Yonkers bank Wednesday and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say the Chase Manhattan Bank off of Central Park Avenue and located next to the Cross County Shopping Center was robbed around 12:30 p.m. The suspect handed a note demanding money to a teller. He then took off in a white vehicle headed towards major roadways. No one was injured in the incident, but customers were unnerved by the heist.

The FBI is also investigating the robbery. Anyone with information on the bank heist is asked to contact the Yonkers police at 914-377-7725.
