Soldiers honored for their service at awards ceremony in Orangeburg

It was a special day Saturday for 50 members of the 812th Military Police Company, as they were honored for their military service.

They were honored with the Warrior Citizen Award, an award enacted by Congress in 2004 for members of the National Guard. Those in attendance at Saturday?s award ceremony, say the main goal of the ceremony is to show appreciation for men and women in uniform.

Soldiers who attended the ceremony say they are proud of their fellow soldiers. This was the first time the Warrior Citizen Awards were given out in the Orangeburg area.
