Homeless shelter to move to White Plains

White Plains residents expressed fear and outrage over a plan to move the county drop-in homeless shelter to Court Street in the downtown area. Officials say the shelter, currently located near Westchester County Airport, could also house dangerous sexual predators. Residents are fearful that now these offenders will now be wandering their streets.

Town officials say the facility will be locked every night and that this plan provides the best way to help those in need. They say the facility will also provide counseling and will be available to anyone who needs it.
