New report names top 10 dirtiest supermarkets in Westchester

State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Westchester) released a ?Terrible 10? list of Westchester's dirtiest supermarkets.

Topping the list, based on results by the State Inspections Office, was the Met Food Market in Mount Vernon. Inspectors discovered food contaminated with mouse droppings and urine. Klein?s report also targeted the nearby 52-56 East Third Grocery, United Deli and Tavare Grocery. In Yonkers, the Riverdale Food Shop, JG Deli, Pak Asian Grocery and Roland Super Foods were all cited. The Valentine Deli in Peekskill and the Tineo Family Grocery in New Rochelle were also on the list.

Klein would like to impose legislation that would force stores that failed three inspections consecutively to close down.
