Westchester post offices extend hours on busiest mailing day of the year

Post offices around Westchester extended their hours on what postal workers are calling their busiest mailing day of the year.

Postal officials expect 900 million pieces of mail to go out Monday. Many post offices throughout Westchester have extended their hours through the holiday season. Several sites have also added 24-hour automated machines that dispense stamps, weigh packages and process Overnight and Priority Mail. Those machines can be found in Monsey, Nanuet, Sloatsburg, White Plains and Yorktown Heights.

Postal workers suggest sending Priority Mail in the next few days to ensure that packages arrive by Christmas.Related Link:24-Hour Self-Service Automated Postal Centers:11 Melnick Drive., Monsey10 W.
