Body of missing Port Chester man found in woods

The body of a Port Chester man who had been missing for two weeks has been found dead in the woods.

A 16-year-old boy made the discovery while riding his bike through the woods of Putnam County. Authorities discovered the body of 51-year-old Edward Devanney under a layer of snow and ice. Devanney, who was reported missing two weeks ago, suffered from diabetes and schizophrenia. Authorities say Devanney had previously wandered off and ended up at the Westchester County Airport Shelter.

Autopsy results are due back this week to determine the exact cause of death. Police in Port Chester and Putnam County are working together to determine exactly what happened to Devanney, but officials say they do not suspect any foul play.
