Moose makes its home in Mahopac back yard

A large moose has been staying in the back yard of a home in Mahopac.

The Mule family had heard there was a large female moose roaming around the neighborhood, but it wasn?t until Monday that the moose decided to make a home in their yard. The moose is estimated to be 6 feet tall and weigh about 1,000 pounds. Experts believe it may have come from Vermont or Canada, which is an uncommon trek for this wild animal.

The Mule family says the moose is a nice addition to their home for the holidays and hopes she sticks around for a while.
