Westchester's homeless adjust to new facility in Valhalla

Some of Westchester?s homeless recently moved into the new shelter at the Grasslands Reservation.

Over the past few days, 22 homeless people from Yorktown were relocated to the facility in Valhalla. A spokesman for Volunteers of America said the transition was very smooth and had very little impact on clients. Shelter officials say many of the clients will be trained to do food preparation and many will be able to get jobs in the food or restaurant industry.

Meanwhile, residents living near the shelter that will house sex offenders are not pleased. Some are concerned for the safety of their children. However, shelter officials say there is plenty of security surrounding the shelter.
