White Plains teams up with corporations for a safe New Year's Eve

While the city of White Plains plans its biggest New Year?s Eve celebration, officials are making sure everyone gets home safe.

The city is joining up with corporations and non-profit organizations to plan its extravaganza, complete with fireworks, a big screen TV and a ball dropping. Mayor Joseph Delfino says Heineken U.S.A. has established a ?safe call? program where local taxi services will provide rides to partiers at various bars and restaurants.

The city is expecting the largest crowd its ever had and the mayor says he doesn?t want to give anyone a reason to drink and drive.
