Nativity scene vandalized at Larchmont church

Parishioners at Saints John and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Larchmont were in shock to discover that someone vandalized their nativity scene Thursday night.

The baby Jesus statue was decapitated and its hands were ripped off. Four sheep from the crèche were also stolen. Father Pomposello says the baby Jesus figure had special significance in the life of his congregation. The statue was part of the church?s annual pageant held before the vigil mass on Christmas Eve.

A neighbor reported that two of his cars were also vandalized Thursday night. Police are not saying if the two incidents are connected.
