Pleasantville firefighters want justice for murdered volunteer
? A group of firefighters gathered Monday at a vigil in Pleasantville to remember a volunteer firefighter who was killed 10 years ago.
Police say Thomas Dorr never arrived to work after leaving his home on Polly Wiggle Road in the middle of a blizzard. He was found in the snow with his throat slashed. Firefighters and family members hold a vigil every year in Graham Hill Park to remember him and bring attention to the unsolved case. Firefighter John Thys says Dorr took him under his wing and helped him adjust, which led to him one day becoming a captain. Thys and others want to repay the favor.
They hope the new district attorney will investigate the murder.
