Blood drive at Iona College for seriously injured alumnus, FDNY firefighter

Students, alumni and employees of Iona College in New Rochelle are coming to the aid of an alumnus who was seriously injured in an accident last month.
New York City firefighter Matt Long was hit by a privately-run bus while riding his bicycle to work during the transit strike in December. He is still in critical condition and needs blood. Through an e-mail sent out by the college, a blood drive was organized and supervised by Sound Shore Medical Center.
The people at Iona College hope to collect enough blood to help Long who has already gone through multiple surgeries. Everyone who donated said they hope he will soon return to the job he loves so much.
