Mount Vernon students take to the streets for peace rally

Mount Vernon students took to the streets Friday in a march for peace.
The peace rally celebrates the achievements of Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. And while Martin Luther King Day is Monday, some Mount Vernon students said it is never too early to remember the achievements of a man who fought to end segregation and promote peace. The students started their march at Nelson Mandela High School, made their way through Mount Vernon and ended at Grace Baptist Church.
As students reflected on the sacrifices made by both King and Parks, the hope is it will lead to a better future for everyone.
