Big-ticket item sales attract early Westchester shoppers

Shoppers in Westchester and the Hudson Valley headed out early Friday to take advantage of the sales on big-ticket items.

Many shoppers at the Wal-Mart in White Plains were looking forward to getting a good price on a 52-inch plasma television. Others were just looking for bargains on DVD players and other electronics. The Wal-Mart opened at 5 a.m. to accommodate those early birds looking for a good price.

Meanwhile, hundreds lined up at the Woodbury Commons Outlets in Orange County at midnight for some sales. Retailers are hoping the sales and early hours will bring in huge profits.
