Cold snap suspends ferry service
The cold weather is a concern for commuters who use the waterways to get to and from work.
Ferry service from Haverstraw to the Ossining Metro-North Station had to be suspended Thursday because of a slushy ice build-up in Ossining Bay.
Every day, several hundred commuters use the ferry, run by New York Waterways, to cross the river.
Ferry service will remain suspended through Friday, and will be re-evaluated over the weekend.
