Rain started falling early Wednesday in Westchester before turning to snow.
Precipitation made the streets slippery, slowing down traffic on one of the busiest travel days of the year.
Drivers were advised to be careful and allow themselves extra time to travel.
Officials said Department of Public Works crews would be out around the clock until the end of the storm.
