Fliers that promised big bucks for new porn talent have been removed from Monroe College's campus, and the school is working to keep the trespassers off campus.
The suggestive posters that promised $4,000 cash for a scene were plastered along Main Street, in the heart of the New Rochelle college campus, over the weekend.
Police removed the fliers on Monday, but similar fliers have appeared in Westchester neighborhoods over the past year, and all with the same contact number. When called the number, the inbox was full.
Monroe College officials have sent letters to students telling them that they don't condone the fliers and to contact campus security if they come in contact with the people posting them.
"That's disgusting," said one young New Rochelle resident, referring to the porn fliers. "I'd rather wait tables than go through that!"
Recent college graduate Crystal Deserlo sees how some students could be tempted. "This can help with college tuition," she said. "They're not thinking."
Other college students have waded into porn to pay tuition costs. "I didn't want to take out hundreds of thousands of dollars in loans when I'm 18," porn performer Belle Knox said recently. She chose porn to fund her education at Duke University. "I feel completely empowered doing porn."
In New Rochelle, police have said the responsible party could face a fine for illegally posting fliers and the college could pursue trespassing charges.
