Comedian James McNair, killed in car crash in New Jersey, mourned at funeral at Paramount Theater in Peekskill
Hundreds attended a funeral service Thursday for Peekskill comedian James McNair, who died in a car crash Saturday.
McNair, 62, was killed in the same crash on the New Jersey Turnpike that seriously injured his friend and fellow comedian Tracy Morgan. The two were on their way back from a comedy performance in Delaware.
McNair's funeral was held at the Paramount Theater in Peekskill. It began with a standing ovation and featured music, prayer and many jokes. McNair, also known as "Uncle Jimmy Mack," was remembered by family members and friends as a devoted family man who always gave back to the community he loved.
McNair will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery. He is survived by two children and six siblings.
