Preview of LEGOLAND plans revealed at Goshen meeting
LEGOLAND officials explained their vision for a theme park in Goshen at meeting Tuesday night.
The meeting was held at the Orange County Emergency Services.
According to officials, the project will bring 1,300 full-time, part-time and seasonal jobs to the area.
The proposed site is a 523-acre parcel of land located off Route 17. Officials want to build the park and hotel at the site.
LEGOLAND officials said they will have 800 construction jobs at the site.
Many residents say they are concerned about the proposed park's possible impact on the community, with the park's estimated 1.5 million to 2.5 million visitors a year.
LEGOLAND still needs approvals from the town of Goshen, Orange County and the state.
Officials say they hope to open the new facility by 2019.
