Yorktown honors vets on Flag Day

A special Flag Day celebration paid tribute to veterans in Yorktown today.

The celebration took place at The Country House retirement facilities.

The opening ceremony was led by former Westchester Police Commissioner Louis D'Aliso and was followed by a rememberance service with the veterans of Yorktown.

Flag Day honors the adoption of the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States in 1777.

Flag Day ceremonies were also held today in Yonkers.
