Fire destroys Mount Vernon home

A home in Mount Vernon is now destroyed after a fire Sunday night.



Flames could be seen shooting from the attic from a home on South Second Avenue.



Sources tell News 12 that someone recently bought the home and it was under construction.



The owner and another person were doing repairs inside at the time of the fire. Both got out safely.



The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
