Parking plan would extend enforcement hours on Mamaroneck Ave.
The Mamaroneck Village Board has proposed extending enforced parking on Mamaroneck Avenue in an effort to discourage drivers from taking up parking spots for too long.
Currently, enforced parking takes place between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. The proposal would extend that time from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m.
The Village Board is also proposing a 25-cent increase in meter fees.
Mayor Norm Rosenblum is strongly opposed to the proposed changes.
"I think this will have a negative impact on the economic viability, on the restaurants and businesses in the Village of Mamaroneck," said Rosenblum.
Neighbors will get a chance to weigh in on the issues at the village's next public hearing on June 13.
