Officials say that a private violin teacher who once worked at the Rippowam Cisqua School in Bedford, and possibly the Harvey School in Katonah, is facing child pornography charges.

Nicolas Szucs voluntarily surrendered Sunday at the White Plains federal courthouse and went before a judge.

The criminal complaint unsealed in court alleges that from at least 2012 to 2015, Szucs possessed, transported, and received images and videos containing child pornography. According to the complaint, the teacher used a file-sharing network to download the material.

Prosecutors say searches of an external hard drive and a laptop belonging to Szucs revealed hundreds of images and videos of child pornography, and they say Szucs also attempted to have his laptop destroyed before it was seized.

Szucs has been charged with transporting and receiving child pornography, and possessing child pornography. If convicted, he could face prison time and fines.
