Residents: ‘Cat urine’ smell permeating Croton community
Croton residents say that an unusual odor has been permeating through their community since at least Monday.
They say the smell resembles cat urine.
Resident Rich Corsetti is convinced that the odor is emanating near a roundabout on Cleveland Drive.
Con Edison workers and firefighters say they have been checking storm drains and manholes throughout the village, but the source of the cat urine odor remains a mystery.
The fire department says it has ruled out gas, and neighbors are pretty sure felines aren't causing the fumes.
The fire department says it plans on doing further rounds in the neighborhood to try to track down the odor's source.
