Weather update: Slushy snow tapers off

A snowstorm that slowed the morning commute tapered off by the afternoon.

Moderate snowfall had been falling in the region, but it accumulated as a slushy, wet mess. The total snowfall was expected to be between 2 and 4 inches.

Temperatures hovered in the 30s, with areas such as Montgomery reaching 33 degrees earlier in the day.

The snow gave way to sun, with the high temperature reaching near 40 degrees around midday.
