A photo and video exhibition were shown at the Montebello Jewish Center in Suffern in honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Wednesday marked the 71st anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, the Nazi's largest concentration camp.
Seventy-one years ago this month, German troops began evacuating the camp and sending prisoners on "death marches" to other camps.
The prisoners were forced to walk for days at a time, and those who couldn't keep up were executed.
It is estimated that over one million people died at Auschwitz.
