Officials: Patient information stolen from Newburgh hospital
Officials say someone stole personal information from nearly 30,000 patients at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.
The hospital reported that a thief took a thumb drive from a restricted area in October. It was loaded with information that officials say did not include Social Security numbers.
Federal officials are aware of the security breach, according to hospital officials.
They also say the hospital will provide a year's worth of identity theft services to patients who may have been affected.
