Goshen district confirms case of whooping cough
Goshen Central School District officials confirmed a case of whooping cough at Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School on Friday.
In a letter to parents, the district says the student is being treated with antibiotics.
They listed the symptoms of whooping cough as initially being like the common cold, but with a rapid progression into a high-pitched cough.
Officials say whooping cough can be particularly dangerous to infants under the age of 1.
