Document: Suspect in wife’s murder filed for divorce in August
News 12 has learned that a Scarsdale man accused of killing his 58-year-old wife on Wednesday had filed for divorce in August.
Police say Dr. Robin Goldman, mother of three and grandmother of four, was stabbed to death in the shower by her 61-year-old husband, Julius Reich. The pediatrician was killed in their multimillion-dollar home in the Tony Heathcote section of Scarsdale. She was buried on Thursday.
News 12 has learned from public records that Reich filed for divorce from his wife last August and that the case was pending. It is unclear why the couple was still living in the same home.
Investigators tell News 12 that after Reich stabbed Goldman, he called 911. Goldman was dead by the time first responders arrived.
Reich, a financial services executive, was charged with Goldman's murder and is being held at the Westchester County Jail without bail.
He is expected back in court on Jan. 26.
