African-American students in Tarrytown were honored at an annual awards luncheon Monday to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Legacy Youth award luncheon was held at the Doubletree Hotel.
White Plains High School senior Jade Clarke was one of seven students recognized for their service at the event.
Fox Lane High School student Alison Moky was given the Building Bridges Award for her work with children in Africa.
Organizers say while they are seeing some evidence of Dr. King's dream coming true, the country still has a long way to go toward total equality.
