White Plains movie theater issued violation for possible bedbugs, lice, mice

A White Plains movie theater has been issued a citation for a possible infestation of bugs and mice.

The city's Building Department issued the violation for possible bedbugs, lice and mice at Cinema de Lux at the City Center in White Plains on Mamaroneck Avenue Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the theater says there were several independent inspections this week and has denied that a citation was issued.

"The inspection results were clear, and were provided to the city, and contrary to recent news reports, no citations were issued," said Rachel Lulay, of National Amusements.

The theater is currently open and running. The city says the management has its own pest control plan in place, but must take some extra steps.

City officials say the theater has 30 days to show there are no violations. Otherwise, management will receive a summons.
