Residents petition against proposed apartment complex
One-thousand residents have signed a petition opposing a plan that would bring nearly 300 rental apartments to Ardsley.
Residents packed Greenburgh Town Hall Wednesday night to urge town council members to deny a proposed development of a four-story complex with 272 rental apartments on 9A Lawrence St., right off the Saw Mill River Parkway.
Surrounding school officials said the project can wait until nearly 400 other developments are built and fully occupied.
Most residents said the move would ignite flooding and wetlands issues, as well as road and traffic concerns along the Saw Mill River Parkway.
The developers said people can view their environmental impact statement, which can be seen on the town's website.
Another public hearing will be held in February.
