Power restored to thousands
An all-day rain and gusty winds knocked out power to thousands across the Hudson Valley yesterday.
Weather is being blamed for knocking down a tree and some power lines along Buena Vista Road in New City. Crews were able to fix the power lines and restore electricity a few hours later.
In Scarsdale, more than 150 homes went dark after a large tree came tumbling down onto power lines.
Police temporarily shut down Sprain Road while utility crews worked to remove the tree and fix the utility pole.
