Memorial bench stolen from Stony Point

The family of a 21-year-old who was killed in a crash is heartbroken after learning that someone stole the memorial bench that was set up in his honor.

Christian Ascolese was killed in a 2014 crash after the driver lost control on Gate Hill Road.

After his death, his friends wanted to do something to remember him so they set up a memorial complete with a wooden bench. They say it's a place to visit to just say "Hi" to him and talk.

But sometime between New Year's Eve and Jan. 2, the bench vanished.

The family has filed a police report and hopes the bench is returned.
