Apartment fire in New Rochelle sends 3 to hospital

A fire broke out just before noon Friday at the Harbor House complex in New Rochelle.

Fire officials say the blaze appears to have started in the kitchen of a third-floor apartment. It took crews 20 minutes to knock out the flames.

The man who lives in the third-floor apartment was rushed to the hospital with burns to his face and head. A woman and her baby living in an adjacent apartment suffered smoke inhalation and were also taken to the hospital.

News 12 was told that the apartment where the fire started is uninhabitable. The cause is under investigation.
