Anti-Semitic letters sent to local officials
Police in Rockland County are looking for the person who sent anti-Semitic letters to several local officials.
The hateful diatribe was faxed to village halls in Wesley Hills and Pomona, along with the Ramapo Police Department, on New Year's Day.
Twelve one-page letters say in part that "Chasidic and Orthodox Jews are a severe danger to civilized society. They need to be placed on reservations under the supervision of the United Nations. They should be given physical work to keep them occupied."
Representatives from the Anti-Defamation League say the letter made its way to Long Island and Westchester as well.
Ramapo police are investigating the situation.
