Car crashes into New Rochelle store
A man was injured after a woman lost control of her car and plowed into a New Rochelle storefront Sunday.
The crash occurred at the Shoretown Stationary Store on Pelham Road.
Video of the incident shows what appears to be a black Nissan Murano waiting to pull into a parking space.
The video shows the car accelerating forward and slamming through the front of the store.
Jeff Weiner, who was inside the store, was hit by the car and suffered a broken ankle that will require surgery.
Witnesses say the driver, a woman in her eighties, made a mistake and hit the gas pedal instead of the break. She was not hurt and remained calm as people rushed over to help.
Police say the crash was an accident and that the woman is not facing any criminal charges.
