Westchester Bagel Café to close after Christmas
A beloved bagel business in Eastchester is closing its doors after 21 years.
The Westchester Bagel Cafe, located at 709 Post Road, is closing after Christmas.
Owner Bonnie Cerbone says the Boston-based landlord is raising the rent by 50 percent.
"We made several offers that weren't taken," she says. "We went to court, and we have to leave Dec. 28."
Although the café is closing, the owners say they hope to reopen in another location. They haven't found a spot yet, but they're determined to keep their doors open somewhere.
