Record high temperatures set in Hudson Valley

The Hudson Valley saw record high temperatures this Christmas Eve.

Yonker's Getty Square saw highs in the 70s, and drivers experienced ice- and snow-free roads.

Meteorologists say El Nino is behind the warm temperatures this winter. The weather pattern has warmed ocean waters in the tropical Pacific, altering temperatures around the world.

Christmas Day is expected to be be partly sunny with highs around 63.

Temperatures are expected to drop to more seasonable levels on Monday, with highs in the low- to mid-40s.
