Family flees flames in Mount Vernon

A family in Mount Vernon was forced out into the cold after a fast-moving fire last night.

Fire officials say flames ignited just before midnight at a home on Rich Avenue between East Lincoln Avenue and Primrose Avenue.

The fire was placed under control 90 minutes later. There is no word yet what caused the fire.

The Westchester Red Cross is now helping the couple and two kids living in the home.
