Burglar on the run in Rye Brook

A burglar may be on the run in Rye Brook.

Police were alerted around 10 p.m. Tuesday by a burglar alarm from a home on Carol Court. They also received a 911 call about a suspicious person leaving one of the homes.

Westchester Aviation and the county's K-9 unit were called in to help search the area, but they were unable to find anything or anyone.

Police say the home is part of a new development called the Enclave at Rye Brook. Many of the houses in the area are still under construction, and no one lives there yet. The home that may have been broken into was actually one of the model homes so no one was there at the time.

Investigators say they don't know if anything was stolen since model homes usually just have furniture and decorative items.
