Pedestrian hit in Rye
A man visiting from the United Kingdom is in critical condition after being hit twice by cars in Rye.
Police say the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday on Purchase Street, between Highland Road and Station Plaza. They say a 51-year-old male was struck by a southbound vehicle driven by a 65-year-old female who is a Rye resident. He was also hit by a northbound car driven by a 78-year-old female who is a Rye Brook resident.
Officials tell News 12 the victim was rushed to the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. He is listed in critical condition with a head injury and multiple fractures.
Police say no charges will be filed against the drivers of both of the vehicles..
