Child hit by car in Yonkers
A young boy is recovering after being hit by a car while crossing the street in Yonkers.
A driver was making a left onto North Broadway on Sunday when she hit a boy who witnesses say is about 9 years old.
The child was with his mother, who immediately tried to help him.
One witness had first aid training and rushed over to the boy, warning his mother not to move him.
"If they do any sudden movements, something could happen," said Heidi Lopez. "He might have had a back injury or anything like that, so I made sure no one was touching him or anything like that."
The boy was holding his lower back and hip area after the incident, which appeared to be where the car had hit him.
Police say that they boy's injuries don't appear to be life-threatening.
