Palisades Center Menorah lighting broadcast to troops
The Jewish community in Rockland went above and beyond to make sure the joy of Hanukkah was felt worldwide on Wednesday.
Local nonprofit Kosher Troops held a live candle lighting of the menorah at the Palisades Center that was broadcast to troops around the world.
It was the first time such an event was held in Rockland County.
Using an online link, troops were able to watch menorah lightings in West Nyack, Hawaii, Seattle, Missouri and even Cuba.
Along with the lighting of the fourth candle on the menorah, children were able to take part in letter-writing to troops.
