Crews extinguish apartment fire in Yonkers

Firefighters were called to the scene of an apartment fire Saturday morning in Yonkers.

The fire ignited on the first floor of an apartment building on North Broadway.

Officials say second-floor residents smelled smoke and called 911.

Fire crews say they found smoke coming out from under the door. They say no one was home at the time of the fire.

Officials say the fire was contained to a small portion of the home.

Officials are still trying to determine the cause of the fire but believe it was started by a stove in the home.
