A new challenge could make it a little easier for the next generation of entrepreneurs to get seed money to start a business.
The Mount Vernon/Yonkers/Bronx (MYB) $eed Tank competition is offering $10,000 in seed money for the winner.
Derickson Lawrence, the CEO of financial service company MarketView, brought the idea to Westchester Community College and got the Chamber of Commerce in Mount Vernon, Yonkers and the Bronx involved.
Student Zionia Francis says she wants to win to help her grow her handbag business.
"So many bright ideas and creative ideas that people have, and it's always a money issue or not knowing exactly what steps it takes to start it," she says.
