School 22 on Nepperhan Avenue in Yonkers won a top honor from the mayor.
The elementary school was awarded School of the Month.
It won the award for its contributions to charity.
In addition to raising money for autism and conducting food and coats drives, the students also raised $3,000 for leukemia.
The school's principal says the acknowledgment feels wonderful, but they do community volunteer work because it feels good to help.
